Carefully read and re-read the short story "Greenleaf" by Flannery O'Connor up to page 317. Please answer the following questions on a sheet of paper that will be submitted.
1. What type of imagery is a crown/wreath of thorns?
2. For how long had Mrs. May hired Mr. Greenleaf? Why doesn't she (Mrs. May) find another worker if she is unsatisfied with the Greenleafs? Find the exact answer from the text and write it down.
3. Mr. Greenleaf says something to Mrs. May that demonstrates his (Mr. Greenleaf's) sense of values and beliefs. What does he say to Mrs. May? (hint..it involves her sons) and what does his comment reveal about his values?
