Welcome to the 2022-23 School Year! I hope we have a wonderfully, engaging school year! I use this blog to share many things with you: homework, handouts, rubrics, and resources. I created this blog BEFORE Schoology so there are many resources here that may not be on Schoology. There are resources in Schoology that are not here. Be nimble, flexible and use tools to increase communication and most importantly understanding of the content. Let's get it y'all! Your Teacher, Ms. Guy

AP English Literature Period 1: Letters to Lear
Compose two sets of letters--one to King Lear; and one to a character of your choice in which you adopt the persona of the Court Psychologist or family therapist. Using vocabulary and jargon from the assigned article, "Is Your Family Dysfunctional?"--the one hyperlinked under classroom readings and handouts, you will construct letters of counsel and advice to Lear and a character of choice. Adopting the persona of therapist, and using the language of the article, please do the following: Tell teach character/subject what mistakes or misdeeds they have done wrong thus far in the play. You may demonstrate that you understand who they are (character analysis) but you purpose is to illustrate their shortcomings thus far. Excellent letters will demonstrate understanding of themes in King Lear so far, human behavior, and the reading Is Your Family Dysfunctional? And perhaps the Jeffrey Klugger Ted Talk and Article. Excellent Letters will also quote from the play, and include salutations/greetings as needed.
