1. Engage in Friday Freewrite for the first 10-13 minutes in class. 2 volunteers pass out and return journals.

2a. In period 6--Uchenna will collect the homework: Is economic freedom a precursor to civic freedom?
3. In groups of three of four students--click the link above and decide which group will take one of section each: Section 1: Overview; 2. Early Life; 3. Tuskegee/Later Career; 4. Marriages and Children; 5. Politics and Atlanta Compromise 6. Wealthy Friends and Benefactors; 7. Legacy.
4. Read your section in your group. Then, in teams use the brown construction paper to record/write down the following: A short summary of the section; three or four facts from the text; names of the important people; actions; or most important sections. Most important idea. (If you are unable to find the brown construction paper--use your own paper, and I will give you chart paper on Monday!) Be ready to teach your sections on Monday!
