Write a letter of introduction to me, your English teacher. Model your letter after my letter to you, or you may do your own thing! Be sure that your letter is at least three full paragraphs. Your letter must begin with two quotations. These quotes can be from a noted thinker, author, personality, historical figure, celebrity or entertainer. I am impressed when the sources of your quotes are varied. Be sure to include the quote, and its source. Your quotes should reflect an insight or epiphany, a goal, a reflection, or something that inspires you, reflects who you are or want to be.
After your quotes, and your opening salutation, describe yourself reflected in three categories: your summer accomplishments and travels, your interests/hobbies/competencies or goals. You must also include a short assessment of yourself as a student. Who were your English and History teachers last year? What is your favorite subject and why? What should I know-- and you know about yourself as a student?
Your tone should be academically appropriate but at times conversational to mark your authentic voice.
End your letter with an appropriate closing, your signature, your printed name, and your period.
