1. Continue reading the definition essay, "Tortillas" in our online text. For each paragraph, inductively work and try your best to describe what or how the author discusses tortillas. Does he ever simply define tortillas?
2. Think of a word that may have more than one meaning, or more than one type of meaning. Write that word down--no sharing. Think about the word and your experiences with it.
3. Finish your SOAPS that you began in class on "My First Conk"
4. Review the Modes of Exposition.

Homework: Under the Comprehension section of  "My First Conk" answer questions 1-3. Under Purpose and Audience: 3-5; and under vocabulary projects, answer question number 2 (substituting more formal word for each of the 6 slang words Malcolm uses). You do not need to write out the questions, just their answers completely, demonstrating understanding and awareness.
