2. Complete the TED Talk Reflective Journal based on The Danger of A Single Story. You may need to re-read the transcript of the TED Talk. What statements made most stand out to you.  What is a single story?
What is the perceived single story of your ethnic group or race? Write it out objectively, if possible, while obviously not admitting to truth.  How are single stories in part, lies?

H. World Literature Period 5

Respond to the following in a page or so: Must we suffer in order to change/grow? Or to what degree must we suffer in order to experience growth?

AP English Literature Period 1

1. Read and Re-read Chapters 1 and 2 of The Kite Runner.  There after, you will read a chapter or more per night.  Expect a reading quiz this Thursday, as this Friday is Career Day.
2.  Continue working on your Why Do Characters Lie? The information will be used to construct a multi-page research explanation of characters that will be 1500 words long and due the second week of February.
3. Select any NEW set of words to use instead of SAYS that you have not used. Create 30 new sentences using characters from novels or plays that you have read.  Remember--use challenging verbs. Avoid the ones you normally use.
4. Download a Major Data Worksheet. You will be doing a bit of research on the events and concepts in the Kite Runner.  I will post the sources so it will be easy for you.
5. We are back to Multple-Choice Mondays w/ Article of the Week & Precis; Analyzing Tone Tuesdays; Prose Passage Thursdays; and Reading Quiz Fridays. 

H. World Literature Period 5

1. King Lear Line Recitals are post-poned until I have shown you a short video clip of the film version. Many of you have asked about costumes and dress. The most important is your interpretation of the expression and feeling in the lines. Your full memorization and delivery with eye contact, clarity; expression, and pacing is more important than any costume. Costumes are complimentary.
2. Review the play up to where we are in Act IV. Next week, you will be writing Character Analysis Essays, using your Open Minds. You will have a Reading Quiz on Monday or Tuesday, and will be revisiting Comprehension Questions and Thematic ones.
3. We will also begin transitioning to World Literature near the end of the Week. Be sure to purchase The Hip-Hop Generation.

Honors English Ten period 3

1. Keep reading your Literature Circle Novel and Making Journal Entries so that you are not behind for next week's journal collection. Remember now that all journals should be a page to a page and a half long.
