H. World Literature Period 5
Today, after hearing art presentations, and sharing responses to your hip-hop journal, and favorite hip-hop song, we will engage in online research to accomplish two goals:
1. Who is the author of my literature circle novel? What is their background? Age? Social class? Education? How is this background, heritage, social experience reflected in their writing? In one page you will complete a summarized version of several sources you viewed to glean information about your author.
2. Where is the country that my author writes about or hails from? How is its history influenced by its geography? Borders? Who are its people? What influences are present on the cultures? Interaction with the United States or other European power? What patterns and motifs are present in the writing?
What major social or political event influenced the nation and its people?
3. A Hip-Hop Timeline: you will research the most important events, prolific artists, top rated albums; most influential or controversial groups in hip-hop.
