Carefully read and annotate the 4 page (2 page front and back) handout on The Prose Passage. Study your notes on the literary terms and techniques: connotation; denotation; tone; distance; levels of diction: high/formal/elevated; standard or medium; low or informal as well as the diction types. We will begin to apply this to our reading/writing and analysis of poems and prose passages.
2. Finish reading Chapter 3 (Part 2) of The Stranger. Select a quote, and continue your journal.
