Neat Versus Sloppy People Questions for Critical Thinking
Critically respond to questions 1,3, and 6 in class. If not finished, then finish the remainder for homework: 5; 6; 7; and 8
1. When did you first become aware that this essay is written in a humorous vein? 2. What explanation does Suzanne Britt give for a sloppy person's behavior? Do you agree with her? 3. What is this essay really about-- beyond neatness and sloppiness? 6. Do you know anyone who has done the things listed in the concluding paragraph? Which type of person do you think the author is?
Additional Questions for Larger Issues: 5. Why does this essay really matter? What seems to be the author's actual purpose?  6. What shortcomings do neat people possess? What is their fixation? What shortcoming do sloppy people possess? What is their fixation?  7. How can you tell that there are some qualities that Brit admires from each category of people? 8. Develop your own way to classify/categorize individuals that is not based on gender; race; or ethnicity.  (For example: hard working and lazy...then, list traits of each group).
