AP English Literature Period 4

1. Carefully read King Lear Act IV. You may access the audio version on the link listed two days ago. Be sure to also read your physical copy of the text.
2. Continue reading your literature circle text, making three new journal entries for every 30-50 pages.  You should be half way through the novel now.
3.Answer the following in Lear: How does Edmond betray his father again? What punishment does Gloucester receive? Connect this back to the chapter in the text, How to Read Literature like a Professor.  Explain the irony of King Lear putting his daughters on trial and making Poor Tom one of the judges.  Explain the irony in Gloucester actually "seeing " his son, but knowing that Poor Tom was his son, before the cruel punishment he receives. How does Edmund convince or win favor with Cornwall?
4.  Continue working on your second Open Mind for a Character who changes in the text.  Select a pivotal moment for that character then identify adjectives to describe them before and after the event.
