1. In class we read the poem "The Hound". Complete questions 1,2, 3, 5,6, 10, 12, 13, 14, 15 from page 655 of the Perrine Literature Text.
2. Select any two and respond in a full page:
Recollect a time when you felt inferior to someone else. Why did you feel that way and how did you act?
Recollect a time you felt superior to a person. Why did you feel that way and how did you demonstrate your superiority?
Write about insecurity. What does it mean to feel or act or be insecure? How do insecure people act?
3. Finally, read the short story "Greenleaf" by Flannery O'Connor in your story, or by following this link Greenleaf by Flannery O'Connor . Read the story up page 317 (the online version. if using the Perrine text, read up to page 491. As you read, make notes perhaps on an index card of the times when a character acts superior to another. Or when a character acts insecure. Are there instances where a character acts both superior and insecure?
